Good quality, not impenetrable 3 people found this helpfulBuild quality is pretty nice. I have enough crank case pressure that the internal baffles does not stop blow by. I pulled maybe 2 table spoons of oil/moisture from the can but it was blowing by the internal baffles and out the top vents on to the exhaust.

Hi Jerry,
We have received your review and wanted to offer some information you may find helpful.
It sounds like you are battling condensation build up.
The Condensation is basically water that is mixing with the oil making a much thinner liquid in the catch can.
If you have ever seen what looks to be water dripping from your car or truck's tail pipe during a cold start... This is condensation.
It doesn't accumulate every night or year round but if you are parking your bike out in the elements and it allowed for condensation to build up... If you didn't allow the engine oil to warm up before riding the next day, That condensation/water pushed out into the catch can when the RPM increased while accelerating.
That foam inside the catch can is porous. It will contain thick oil carryover but has to allow vapor to pass through... This porous foam doesn't do a great job at containing the watery mix.
You can line the floor of the catch can with a piece of cloth to better contain the watery mix.
The best thing you can do is allow the bike to warm up a bit more before riding and increasing the RPM under acceleration. The oil temps need to be above 180° to burn off that condensation.
The catch can isn't creating the condensation, it is just showing it to you. The silver lining is that liquid is not feeding into the intake any longer.
If you can't get it under control... You can re-route the hose up from the breather bolts to reduce the liquid that reaches the catch can.
Up and over to the other side of the engine or up along the frame back bone towards the rear of the bike or under the seat area. This will make it more difficult for the condensation to reach the catch can and gives it more adequate time to be vaporized.

Looks great on my Indian! 1 people found this helpfulCatch can look’s right at home on my Springfield Dark Horse! The breather off of my motor is 5/8 tubing and slides right into a piece of 3/8 for the catch can. I have yet to see if I get any mist or the maintenance of it.

Good idea poor design 3 people found this helpfulGreat at catching oil but when it is mixed with condensation from the engine, it makes the thread inside corrode then you can’t get it undone. All that research, should be using a threaded tube that doesn’t corrode. I have only had mine less than a year and the thread is rusty so had to use grips which damaged the paint.

Catch can 0 people found this helpfulThis can is a huge upgrade from a breather filter. I went cheap first and tried a simple breather filter and I was not happy. A small amount of oil sure does make a huge mess. I mounted my can just below the A/C it fits so damn nice in between the lifter blocks and I went with black you do not even notice it!!! Now I can actually monitor if my bike is passing oil or not.

It definitely does what it is supposed to do, The satisfying part is cleaning it out and seeing what would have gone into the motor and robbing you of power. Good quality catch can 0 people found this helpfulThis is my first DK catch can. I am very happy with the design, and very small size. I will be buying 2 more, one for my other bike, and one for my son's bike. Shipping was fast to Canada, with USPS. And customer service, answered all my questions. I used 1/16 NPT fittings because I did not want to drill a large hole in the air cleaner backing plate. I believe this is the best EBS system, on the market.

No comparison and I ended up just chucking the poor imitation. Lesson learned. Shipping is quick and good customer service.

I used a K&N filter at the end of my hose but you would have to clean it weekly and it would still blow oil out onto your frame. I bought this catch can and no oil comes out plus it's a catch can in one. I'm really impressed with this catch can.

Beautiful sensible design 0 people found this helpfulI’ve got an ‘05 Sportster punched out to 1200, ported the heads, lumpy cams, Super “E” S & S carb. She has always fouled plugs and produced lots of top end sludge. I run a K & N breather and I always figured that sludge being piped into the intake. Three or four years earlier I fabbed from 1/8” tube fittings a dinky drain set-up. No improvement. An e-Mail from DK mentioned this Catch-All for drool, the concept of cleanable catch basin, multi-stage filtration and a bore size that makes sense. Dwayne the design is brilliant. Mounted with 5/16” nipples soldered into the K & N breather bolts, high pressure fuel hose for stiffness and a “Y” piece I fabbed from 3 hose nipples, brass. Installed a new Accel coil and with the EBS fitted, this girl has never ever run so clean and strong.

Had almost everything I needed to install had to buy one clamp to mount it. Watching their informative videos I knew I would need it. Was pretty easy to install. Incredible Product and Company. 0 people found this helpfulI was having oil blow-by issues on a 114 M8 Heritage Softail. I installed this and it helped tremendously. I was able to diagnose the blown oil in a lab and found out the oil was getting to hot. I also have a lucky engine with very high compression. So I switched to synthetic Red-Line oil and with the EBS catch can it completely solved my problem. This extremely well made product completely won me over as a fan of DK Custom. The quality construction is apparent just holding it, and after being mounted for 5k miles and riding through North Dakota hail and a Tennessee hurricane, it looks good as new and is still easy to service. I got fancy and installed mine on the bottom of a dog bowl style aircleaner and ran the tubing behind the plate. No visible wires. I get lots of compliments... if they even notice it!

Nice. 0 people found this helpfulWell made, should do the job nicely. I think it's expensive for what it is, but I couldn't find another catch can this small so I bought it. Aside from that, if DK offered a prefabbed bracket to install it would be great. There are a lot of places to hide these but a simple bolt on install would be nice. I chose to hide mine behind my oil cooler on my 2020 Roadglide so gravity will help the oil to drain into the can.

Simple install. 0 people found this helpfulWhile researching the addition of a catch can to my 2018 Street Glide Special, I spend a lot of time on YouTube seeing what other people had done to install this product. I ended up going with the installation of the catch can within the airbox but with the lines that would normally feed into the intake being connected to the catch can instead. The fumes that are generated will still be ingested into the engine however the oily mess that was present previously has been eliminated. So if you're concerned about keeping your motorcycle emissions legal, this setup will work for you as it did for me.

Happy 0 people found this helpfulI had purchased a outlaw Air cleaner a couple years ago and had the original catch can set up. Well, things get improved from time to time and although irritated that refresh kits were not available for the original, I purchased the new design. Doesn't need to be cleaned as often. The one issue I have is I get a little oil mist on my exhaust. More then likely because I have the can right below my air cleaner. ( I like that look) . Right after the install we did the 1000 mile in 24 hours Iron Butt and the rear cylinder exhaust got oil mist on it. ( not terrible) . Of course doing the Ironbutt in 16 hours would suggest that we ran these bikes pretty hard. Last item. In the 2 plus years I've used this system, I have never had to return this bike. That's at least $500 in dyno time. Good product.

It was fairly easy to install, instructions were pretty good, and it’s working out perfectly so far. I love that the catch can is able to be emptied without disconnecting hoses.

Reluctant at first but now I'm sold on it. 0 people found this helpfulAfter watching videos and doing some research I decided to order the catch can. The material is solid and well built. I pulled my plugs and using a borascope, I check the piston tops. There was build up as there should be for 57K miles on my 16 Road King Police. I have the over sized breather bucket and had to be creative with the plumbing, but routed the hose down and using some zip ties (for now) mounted on the frame under the transmission. After rising for about 1K miles plus or minus, I once again checked the piston heads. They were a heck of a lot cleaner than before, and the bike is running smoother. I was actually surprised that something as simple as that could make that much difference.

Very good quality 0 people found this helpfulDo NOT be tempted by one of the lookalike cheaper and slightly smaller catch cans that are plentiful online - they don't work and you will get a lot of oily gunge coming out of the breather holes all over you or your bike on longer rides. They only have a bit of foam inside which is useless. The DK one has worked perfectly due to the internals. Well worth a bit more money.

So nice, I considered hanging it in plain sight (but in the end, I put it underneath the motorcycle). It looks very easy to service - just unscrew the body, and clean it out. After two weeks I unscrewed it to check and there was nasty brownish oily water there that would have otherwise been ingested by the engine. Keeping the junk that enters the engine to a minimum is really helpful when trying to get high reliable mileage on any bike.

Plan on emptying the can on each oil change. It is comforting to know only clean cool air entering the engine AND your air filter will stay cleaner much longer.

High quality 0 people found this helpfulAs with all of DKs' products that I have used so far, this one is top botch. I got this for my '17 Slim S SE 110. No more oil mixed air going into my intake and motor. By redirecting the PCV from the intake to this can I have seen a noticeable bump in performance as stated. (7% power increase claim) The bike feels it has more torque and the rpms seem to climb faster. Could it be placebo??? sure. But there is no denying that OIL MIXED air is no longer going into my motor. AND THAT alone makes this mod worth doing. Imo. KEEP YOUR MOTOR CLEAN. Stop the carbon build up that is happening by not venting the PCV to a can or atmosphere via filter. GREAT MOD. Thanks again DK

Looks to be well made. 0 people found this helpfulPicked the black can to hide under floorboard. After 300 miles I opened it up. Sure enough there was breather oil in the can and not on the air filter. Used JB Weld to plug holes in backer plate. Working great.

well made but too small... 0 people found this helpfulIn my opinion it is a well made unit... however, the capacity is too small, requiring cleaning too frequently. ************* If you are filling up/needing to clean it more than once every 3000-5000 miles you are spitting too much oil. Nice Product 0 people found this helpfulGot the catch can to replace the exposed filter on my external breather which was letting some oil make contact with the heads and creating a burnt oil smell. Installation was simple and its barely noticeable located behind the horn cover. Hopefully this stops the smell and I continue to enjoy the performance bump with this style breather vs the HD routing back into intake style but with no mess. :)

Perfect 0 people found this helpfulUse with J&P external crossover and about 3" of fuel line. Attached with black tywraps. Looks great and works better. No spray or leaks. Much better quality and pricing than others on the market. Highly recommend.

Its super easy to unscrew and dump out and I will definitely do the breather kit with the catch can on any future bikes.
