Customer Reviews

Holy Toledo, what a change! Review by NoSlackPatriot
FWIW, I am 5'10 and 208lbs and ride a ’17 XL1200X. I purchased a 10x13 seat from Mother Road Customs [I wish DK offered this sized seat in their premium spring seat]. I liked the appearance and fitment of the smaller framed seat. The MRC Seat includes 2-inch springs, and boy, let me tell ya: Those 2-inch springs bottom out and do not provide much suspension! These DK Custom Springs [I purchased the 3in. black version] provide a very noticeable difference [cushioned ride] and removes the pressure off my tailbone. Those MRC 2-inch springs really put a lot of pressure on my tailbone and were just not comfortable to say the least, despite doing a 1,600 mile ride to Kansas and back from Tennessee. Today, I tested the DK Custom 3-inch springs on a 90 mile ride and made it at least as twice as far before my butt started becoming uncomfortable. With the 2-inch springs, I was swapping butt checks as soon as I hit 30-40 miles in miserable attempts to find comfort. With the DK 3-inch springs, I made it 90 miles and only started thinking about swapping butt cheeks on the seat. If the 3-inch springs are used in conjunction with gel padded bicycling shorts and an air hawk, I bet you’d be able to travel all day long in comfort! And I know my statements are fairly subjective, but I do find these spring seats more comfortable than standard seats. If you opt for DK's Premium Spring Seat, your experience may be vastly better without the padded shorts and air hawk! Thanks, DK Customs!! (Posted on 5/12/2019)
